Privacy, explained clearly.

“Hindustani Tongue”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the language-learning service operated by Hindustani Tongue Education LLP. We decide how personal information is used for our website, enquiries, course enrolments and learner support, subject to the privacy laws that apply to you.

For privacy questions or requests, email team@hindustanitongue.com. Please use “Privacy request” in the subject line and tell us which email address you used with us. Do not send passwords, card numbers or identity documents unless we have explained a secure way to verify your request.

Depending on how you use the service, we may handle:

• Contact and enquiry details: name, email, phone number, country or timezone, the language you want to learn and messages you send us.
• Course and lesson details: enrolment, attendance, schedule, learning goals, progress notes, practice and support history needed to deliver and improve lessons.
• Payment and transaction details: course, amount, currency, payment status, receipt and a transaction reference. Card or bank details are entered with the payment provider and are not intended to be sent to us by email.
• Parent or guardian details: where a child is enrolled, the adult’s contact and consent details, plus only the learner information needed to organise the class.
• Technical and usage information: information such as IP address, browser/device type, pages visited and cookie choices where our site tools collect it.
• Class media: an image, audio or lesson recording only where the class or activity is intended to be recorded and the required notice and permission have been obtained.

Please do not send sensitive personal details that are not needed for language teaching.

We use relevant information to answer enquiries, arrange trials, process enrolments and payments, deliver classes and course resources, track attendance and progress, respond to support requests, prevent fraud or misuse, meet legal or accounting duties, and maintain and improve our website and teaching service.

We may send service messages about a trial, schedule, payment, course or support issue. We send promotional messages only as permitted by law. You can opt out of marketing using the unsubscribe link where available or by emailing us. Opting out does not stop essential service messages.

Depending on your location and the activity, our legal basis may be taking steps at your request or performing a contract, complying with law, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, or your consent. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it for future use; withdrawal does not undo earlier lawful processing.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share only the information needed for a specific purpose with:

• Teachers assigned to deliver or support your course.
• Website, cloud, classroom and communication providers used to host the site, organise lessons, store learning materials or manage enquiries.
• Payment providers shown at checkout, to process a payment, refund or transaction query.
• Scheduling, customer-support, CRM, email, analytics or advertising providers when we use those tools for the relevant task.
• Professional advisers, regulators, courts or public authorities when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, our rights or the service.
• A successor organisation if our business is reorganised or transferred, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

We ask service providers to handle information only for the service they provide to us, subject to their role and applicable law. The provider categories above describe the types of services that may receive information; specific providers may change as our tools change.

Because we serve learners internationally, some providers may process information in a country other than yours. Where required, we use the safeguards required by applicable law.

Our website may use essential storage to keep the site, checkout, security and your preferences working. If enabled, analytics or advertising tools may use cookies or similar technologies to understand site use or measure campaigns.

Where your local law requires permission for a non-essential cookie or similar technology, it should remain off until you have made the required choice. If a cookie-preference control appears on the website, use it to change your choice. You can also manage cookies in your browser, although blocking essential cookies may affect some website features.

Cookie names, purposes and lifetimes depend on the tools currently active on the site and may change when a plugin or campaign changes.

Hindustani Tongue offers language learning to children as well as adults. A parent or legal guardian must make the enrolment, provide any permission required, and remain our main contact for a learner under 18. Teachers and support staff should use the child's information only to organise and deliver learning, safeguard the student and communicate with the responsible adult.

We do not knowingly use a child's contact information to send the child direct marketing. We do not publish a child's photograph, testimonial or class recording without appropriate permission from the parent or guardian and any learner assent that is appropriate to the child's age and understanding.

If you believe a child's information has been provided without the required permission, contact team@hindustanitongue.com so we can review it.

A live class is not automatically permission to record or publish it. If Hindustani Tongue plans to record a session for learning, quality review or another stated purpose, we will explain that purpose and ask for any permission required before recording. A student or teacher may not publish another person's image, voice, lesson materials or testimonial without appropriate permission.

Marketing use of a learner story, photo, voice or testimonial is separate from receiving lessons. Saying no to that use will not affect the learner's course.

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, including delivering the course, supporting the learner, keeping required financial records, resolving disputes and meeting legal duties. We then delete it, anonymise it or securely restrict access, as appropriate.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, and limit access to people who need it for their work. No online service can promise absolute security. Please contact us promptly if you suspect someone has accessed your account or personal information without permission.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may be able to ask us to access or correct information, delete it, receive a copy, restrict or object to some use, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. Marketing opt-out is available at any time.

Email team@hindustanitongue.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm that we are responding to the right person, and we will handle the request within the time required by applicable law. For a child's request, the parent or guardian should contact us.

We may update this policy when our services, tools or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top shows when this version applies. If a change materially affects how we use information, we will provide any notice required by law.
